Janina is known for her broad pallet of characters, most prominently as Luna, the shapeshifter on HBO’s True Blood; Shiva, the namesake of the sought after trophy on FX’s The League; Papi, the swashbuckling Latina lotharia on Lifetime’s The L-Word and Meredith, the whip cracking NY cop in NBC’s Mysteries of Laura. Janina will next be starring as the new female lead on FOX’s hit show Sleepy Hollow.

In addition to the above projects, the three-quarters Indian, one-quarter Dutch beauty was also a series regular on the ABC series The Gates and has been frequently recurring in the comedy series Traffic Light and The Goodwin Games on FOX and in Arrow and Vampire Diaries on the CW.

On the big screen Janina could recently be seen in SONY’s hit film Think Like A Man Too.  Other credits include the independent films Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf and Satellite of Love, which successfully made festival rounds. She recently shot the independent feature The White Orchid opposite Olivia Thirlby. Janina can next be seen in the independent films Sidney Hall opposite Logan Lerman and Elle Fanning and in Cortex, in which she stars opposite Josh Lucas.  The latter also marks the first foray into features for Janina’s production company Safe Haven Productions.

As an accomplished musician, she has a second life as a performer. She grew up studying classical piano, percussion and voice, joined the girl group EnDera on the Cash Money label, and has seen her original music licensed for film and television. Her 2010 music video reworking the Kanye West hit "Love Lockdown" elicited raves from fans and critics. 2012 marked another big step in her music career by signing a deal with Randy Jackson’s label under which she released the critically acclaimed single "Waiting For Godot." Her current musical piece "Don't Look Down" features a drum corps, and was created to incite conversation about arts education funding in the US.

There's also Janina the Geek, who not only writes program code for friends, but who was also the first celebrity to sign up with Twitter and who is so technologically creative that she is regularly asked to be on panels at conferences educating the entertainment industry on the practical application of multiple new digital platforms. Her efforts were awarded with the Gravity Summit Excellence in Social Media/Entertainment Award in 2011. An avid gamer herself Janina took on her first role in a video game with Ubiosoft’s award winning smash hit Far Cry 4.

Originally from Joliet, Illinois, Janina now resides in LA.
