Band/Performer Submission Guidelines

We'll be changing the submission guidelines a little bit in 2008...rather than requiring interested performers to mail in CD's, DVD's or Press Kits, we will be asking everyone to simply send an e-mail (with some pertinent info included) in order to be considered for a performance slot.

E-mails should be sent to dragoncon(at)comcast.net and should include the following information:

Band/Performer name in the subject line

A web address for any and all of the following: Band Website, MySpace Music Page or EPK. If you do not already have a MySpace Music page, please do yourself a favor and create one...it's a fantastic promotional tool and it's free!

Contact information including name, telephone number(s) and e-mail address for the primary contact person

This change should help make the process easier on all involved. When we receive your e-mail, the request will immediately go into a database so that the many many submissions we receive can be tracked more efficiently.

We understand that some may still need to mail their submissions but please do not do so unless you absolutely must...save the postage...if we need additional material we will contact you direct and request that you send us hard copies.

Submissions sent via mail should be addressed to:

DragonCon - P.O. Box 5322 - Atlanta, GA 31107
Attention: Band Submission Committee

This committee primarily deals with choosing the acts that will perform in the evening (Thursday thru Sunday) in the main ballrooms at DragonCon. Other interested acts (anything from magicians to burlesque troops) may still submit their info here and if it does not fall under the performance committee's umbrella, we will forward your e-mail to the proper individual(s) and notify you on how best to follow-up.

There are generally a dozen or fewer bands chosen to perform at Dragon*Con each year...for obvious reasons, the earlier you are able to send in submission requests the better. If you have sent in submissions in the past or even if your band has performed at Dragon*Con before, it is still important to submit your request in order to be considered in the current year.

As a rule, bands do not receive a fee to perform at Dragon*Con but each on-stage performer will receive a 4-Day badge (+1) and free table space is provided to the band in order for them to promote themselves and sell band related merchandise. Historically this has been a very lucrative revenue source for participating acts. If traveling from long distances, a room at a nearby hotel may also be provided.

Please see the below links for examples of just how potent an appearance at Dragon*Con can be:
