This year, Dragon Con’s charity of choice is Literacy Action. We at Costuming Track are doing our part. -with a costuming twist, of course.
Pin Your Business Card
First, we are providing a pin board for our costuming related service providers to pin their business card (or flyer) and show their support! Pins for Charity will be located in our Exhibits (Hilton, 3rd floor, room 301) for all of the Dragon Con members to see when they visit the exhibit. Minimum donation amounts will be posted at the con for various print sizes. Minimum suggested donations…
$3 – 1 side of business card
$5 – both sides of business card or 1/4 page (4.25″ x 5.5″) flyer
$10 – 1/2 page (8.5″ x 5.5″) flyer
$20 – full page (8.5″ x 11″) flyer
Patterns are back!!
We are excited to once again offer this opportunity to add to your pattern collection while helping us raise funds for charity. The patterns will be sold for a minimum donation in room 304 (Hilton, 3rd floor) whenever panels are in session. Come on by and pick up yours. Pricing TBD, but we promise they will be at a steal!
Want to donate patterns for the cause? We are accepting new, gently used, or original draft patterns of ANY type this year: fabric construction, leather crafting, chainmaille weaves, prop building, – even dog costumes, and so much more. All types of patterns are much appreciated. Please bring your pattern donations to Costuming Track either Thursday in room 302 from 4:00p-7:00p, or rooms 306-307 Friday from 2:30p-8:00p. If you prefer to mail them to us in advance, please email us at: email@example.com.
Books for Literacy
We are also collecting books to be repurposed. We are asking for new or gently used books, preferably those sharing the joy of costuming; but no great book will be turned away. Most of them will be donated directly to Literacy Action to help disadvantaged adults learn to read. They do have a cap on how many they can take, however, so any book that is left over will be sold for a minimum donation alongside the patterns.
