Mark, an aspiring photographer who witnessed a murder, tries to sell the pictures he took of the scene to a magazine. He tells the chief editor how he heard the murder of a young woman that he’d met earlier at a gas station, from a bathroom stall. After the killer left, he dared to sneak out of his stall and took the opportunity to snap pictures of the murder victim before leaving. Moved by his story and impressed by the quality of his photographs, the chief editor offers Mark a job. Mark leaves her office with the promise not to disappoint her.
