Gears in the Garden

Written/Directed/Produced by Evelyn Morse

Written/Directed/Produced by Evelyn Morse

A factory robot was designed for the single, mundane function of cutting logs into toothpicks. But when he breaks down, he’s thrown out in the trash where he’s found and repaired by an elderly gardener. Waking with no factory, no emotions, and no purpose, he doesn’t understand the new life he’s been thrown into. He isn’t programmed for humming or watering plants. And he certainly isn’t programmed to make friends with a little old lady with a big, gentle heart.

Welcome to a modern world where magic is so prevalent that it’s almost mind numbingly monotonous. After a hundred years of peace and prosperity, society has grown comfortable, tolerating the occasional dragon attack as long as it doesn’t interfere with internet speed. With very few exceptions, Questers (professional adventurers) are seen as desperate lunatics that must journey for days, sometimes months, to complete increasingly dangerous jobs. Ninety-nine percent of all quests end in either failure or death.

Committed is a film made by fans of not only The Joker and Harley Quinn, but of comedies and romantic comedies as well. We wanted to portray it from the vantage point of two beloved characters while still creating a story to which everyone could relate. This is why, at it’s heart, Committed is about the trials and tribulations every couple goes through and what we have to do in order to get back to a place of love.

Blood Bath stars Jeordie White, a.k.a ‘Twiggy Ramirez’ (Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails), who is sinister in his lead role as ‘Marv’, while Pandie Suicide (Ditch Day Massacre, David Lynch’s ‘Crazy Clown Time’) plays a loosely inspired modern day version of the Blood Countess. Slipknot’s Sid Wilson appears as ‘The Frozen Guy’ with Kimberly Ables Jindra and artist Shannon Crawford. The film features a haunting rocky score, provided by ex-Korn/ Filter/Otep guitarist and composer Rob Patterson with a track by seventeen year old Poppy Jean Crawford.
