One step closer

We have around 150 more notifications to send out.  Many of those will go out today or tomorrow.  However, some disks needed to be replaced, etc, so we are still looking at those films, and others in our final round, and it may take a few days longer for us to make decisions for those very last slots.

Slowly…ever so slowly, Notifying

We have begun to notify filmmakers, but we are also still making a few final decisions.  It may take a week…or more…before everyone is notified.  There is no need to query us on the status of your submission.  You will hear from us.

D*CISFF Regular Deadline Today

The regular deadline for the Dragon*Con Independent Short Film Festival is today, May 6.

Do you still have time to submit?  You do.  Use withoutabox.com to get all the paperwork in by the end of the day, and it’s not a problem if the film gets to us a few days later.  But get that online paperwork done today.

If you are using the pdf submission form, get your submission postmarked by today, and we’re still good.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of the wildest and most enjoyable festival you’re likely to find.

Rockin’ The AFF

The Atlanta Film Festival is the place to be this week. If you come out, look me up. I’ll be taking in the shorts (of course) and introducing some features come the weekend.

Dave Brubeck: In His Own Sweet Way

A big congrats to our own Bob Coughlin  (a judge at the 2010 Dragon*Con Independent Film Festival) who worked as researcher (he’s the one who found all the classic clips) on the documentary Dave Brubeck: In His Own Sweet Way.  The film played on TCM this month.  Yes, it would have been better to post this before it screened, but I didn’t find out till after.

It’s an excellent doc, with a great number of incredible clips of the superb jazz great. So seek it out.
