Elizabeth Moon has written 27 science fiction and fantasy novels, including Nebula Award winner The Speed of Dark, Hugo nominee Remnant Population, Sassinak, and Generation Warriors with Anne McCaffrey, the Serrano/Familias Regnant series, the Vatta's War series. Her most recent novel is Cold Welcome (Del Rey, April 2017), another in the Vatta Universe; as of this writing (October 2016) she is working on the next Vatta book. She has also published ~ 50 short fiction works in magazines, anthologies, and collections (most recent collection Deeds of Honor, 2014.) Her work ranges across the sub genres of the field, including alternate history, hard SF, epic fantasy, humor, space opera, military SF, and others. The Speed of Dark has been selected by multiple universities as a First Year Experience read, and Moon has been a speaker at these universities, discussing issues of identity and autonomy in the context of disability labeling. She was also an author guest and speaker at the National Book Festival in 1913. Her works have been translated into more than a dozen languages.
