Thank you, everyone!
To our attendees:
Thank you to you, the ones reading this, the ones who attended both our 'main' and XTrack room panels and those who show up to support us - some of you year after year and some of you for the first time.
XTrack started 17 years ago. We had no 'big name guests' - we had numerous small fandom discussions about the X Files and shows that were related.
Over the years, we've expanded to be the current track with a focus on the paranormal/supernatural, which includes government and conspiracies. And, hopefully forever, we'll keep a dash of aliens, artifacts and intrigue (couldn't come up with another a ). We've gained shows and fandoms and lost them - but you stick around.
Now, this year, we had an amazing guest year and discussion year. Lost continues to pack our track room and you continue to pack rooms for Warehouse 13, Grimm, The X Files and Fringe. Thank you for attending on any and all panels. Your enthusiasm continues to energize Aaron, Jon and JJ to talk Lost, keeps Father Bryan coming back to talk religion and its themes and continues to stun, amaze and captivate our big guests. As one Grimm guest said (direct quote), "I can't believe how many people are out there and how good their questions were... They were so much better than (redacted - that other con)."
So thank you. Thank you, dear attendee, for coming to panels in XTrack.
When you tell us we're great staff, our faces light up. When you tell us you have the most fun with XTrack, our hearts go pitter-pat. And when you give to charity as generously as you did, you make us tear up on stage.
Without you, there is no XTrack. So, from the bottom of our non-Wesen, non-alien and non-artifact hearts, thank you.
To our Guests:
Track has to thank our amazing guests at this year's DragonCon. As always, thanks to Father Bryan Small, John Flynn, Bob Blackwood, Diane Blackwood, Aaron Fever, Jon Boutelle, JJ Hawkins, Rox Henkle, Kim Tuffley, Rob Levy, Widget Walls and the NeedCoffee crew and anyone else I may have forgotten who presented in our track room. Our fandom discussion panels were excellent and we just wish we had time for more.
And special thanks to:
OUR FRINGE GUESTS: Michael Cerveris, Jaskika Nicole and Seth Gabel
OUR THE XFILES GUEST (and Dallas and SG Atlantis and Sons of Anarchy
and...): Mitch Pileggi
OUR GRIMM GUESTS: Silas Weir Mitchell, Claire Coffee and Russell Hornsby.
Special thanks to these guests for attending DCon between their shooting schedule!
OUR WAREHOUSE 13 GUESTS: Eddie McClintock, CCH Pounder, Gennelle Williams, Jamie Murray, Brent Spiner, James Marsters, , Paul Amos and Derec Hughes.
It was a bittersweet year to see them and we thank them all for being there, especially Eddie and Gennelle who came directly from the last bit of shooting.
To the XTrack Staff:
I could not do this without the wonderful Beth, Deb, Jenny, Kerry, Thomas and Cheryl. These are the people that keep me sane and keep the "train"
Our guests, our attendees and the staff. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Leigh (and staff)
PS -We know we aren't perfect and please tell us what you'd like to see and what we can do better. Please email us at email@example.com.
XTrack covers shows that focus on the paranormal with a hint of government conspiracy and Big-Brother'ish oversight. Think XFiles, Millenium, The Lone Gunmen, and Fringe. We also focus on the series that show paranormal activities with government involvement as a positive thing. In that realm, think of Warehouse 13 and Medium. And finally, we like talking about the shows that are all about the epic battle of good versus evil, with paranormal help, of course. In this case, Supernatural is our discussion point.
