Application Availability

Please read prior to applying!

The Dragon Con Art Show application will be available from February 1 – March 1.  The Dragon Con Art Show is a juried event.  We will reach out to all applicants by April 15th.

Please note:

  • This application is for (fine art) artists only.
  • The Dragon Con Art Show does not accept Pop Artists.  You can apply to Comic and Pop Artist Alley here.
  • Retailers are not permitted to purchase space in the art show.
  • Only one artist per application. Each person in a partnership should apply individually and use the Additional Information field to note the partnership.
  • Applications that are not accepted are either placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available, or they are declined and removed from the applications list.
  • Applications that do not provide working links to websites, display inappropriate content, exhibit an overabundance of merchandise, or are not “themed” for the Art Show will be declined.
  • You must apply each year. Applications from the previous year do not roll over.
  • If your application is accepted, you have two weeks to contact the Dragon Con office and pay for the space.
  • If we don’t receive payment within two weeks, we will release the space to the next artist.

Dragon Con Art Show Rules and Regulations

ELECTRICITY AND INTERNET: Advance rates for access to an electrical plug are $65. Please indicate your electrical needs on the application. Internet must be arranged directly with the Hyatt Regency.

BOOTH/TABLES: Booth space runs 8×10 and is $800 per booth, and table space is 6×6 and is $450.  You may bring your own pro panels for either your booth or table space.  For Booth space only, you may rent gridwall/pegboard set up for an additional $300 which includes electricity and two lights.

SECURITY: Dragon Con will provide overnight security in the room, and no one will be allowed in the art show once it has closed for the evening. All necessary items and valuables must be taken with the Artist when exiting after the Art Show closes each evening.

ART WORK SUBJECT MATTER: Dragon Con is home to a large number of people of all ages. Please use your best judgment regarding subject matter. Dragon Con reserves the right to remove any artwork deemed inappropriate.

SHIPMENTS: If shipping product the artists can contact show coordinators for the decorating kit. This kit is sent from Shepard, our official show decorator. Dragon Con will not accept personal shipments at the hotel. If you need to ship artwork to coincide with your arrival, please contact your hotel or the local Fed Ex office in the Hyatt Regency to make arrangements. Artists are permitted to carry in their own product to their assigned table only by hand or hand truck. Artists will be required to set up, break down, and manage their space throughout the show.

ADVERTISING: Dragon Con offers several avenues for advertising at the show. Information is available here. In addition, Dragon Con will provide a dedicated Art Show section in our Quick Start Guide and on the official Dragon Con app.

ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS:

  • In order to ensure attendee satisfaction, artists will remain set up at their table and be present during the hours of operation in order to display work/sell merchandise all four days of Dragon Con.
  • Merchandise is to be limited to no more than 10% of total print art in the booth/table space
  • Photography will be allowed in the Art Show. If you prefer not to have your artwork photographed please place appropriate signage at your table and/or booth.
  • Artists must comply with, and be bound by, all laws, ordinances, and regulations of the country, state, county, city, and facility.
  • Sales Tax Forms will be available prior to the show and on site. It is your responsibility to submit this paperwork directly to the State of Georgia Department of Revenue.
  • Retailers are not permitted to purchase space in the art show.
  • All work must be the creation of the exhibiting artist and should relate to areas of fandom, including but not limited to animation, comics, science fiction, gaming, or fantasy.
  • Dragon Con will operate a gallery where artists can display pieces with exposure aimed to direct sales to the specific artists’ space in the art show.  The Gallery will serve as a focus for the Art Show Awards.
  • Dragon Con will continue collecting pieces to be auctioned off for charity. In addition, we will once again offer the opportunity to complete an art project supporting the official Dragon Con Charity.
  • Dragon Con will offer programming throughout the show and will encourage artist participation. More details will be available in the spring.
  • No AI artwork of any kind will be allowed to be sold or distributed in the Dragon Con Art Show, Comic and Pop Artist Alley, or Vendor Halls. Failure to comply with our AI Policy may result in immediate removal from the show floor.
